The Laboratory of Aquatic Mammals (LAMAQ) is located in the Department of Ecology and Zoology of the Federal University of Santa Catarina.

We are a family owned and operated business.

It has space for research and necropsy, in addition to the largest scientific collection of marine mammals in South America (more than 600 specimens). At LAMAQ, undergraduate, masters and doctoral students develop research involving population dynamics and ecology, trophic ecology, comparative morphology, biomechanics and bone changes, systematics and taxonomy, fishing ecology and ethnobiology, zooarcheology and bioacoustics. In addition, extension activities are carried out, receiving students and participating in exhibitions, courses and lectures.
